23. Remove Judge Cashman Petition

Have you signed it yet?

As of today, 1243 people have signed the online petition to help the Vermont legislature remove Judge Edward Cashman for his complete failure to punish a child molester. An innocent little girl has been doubly betrayed.

If you believe Vermont children deserve better protection than that given by Judge Cashman and the state legislature, email your views to Rep. Gaye Symington (D), Speaker, House of Representatives, email:

19. Gov. Douglas delivers the State of the State address

Gov. Jim Douglas delivered the 2006 State of the State address on January 5th, 2006. The text of the speech is available as a pdf file from this URL, left menu:

Milton's Doran Metzger's current service to the country in Iraq is mentioned on page 2.
It is perhaps the men and women of the Vermont National Guard who today best illustrate the strength and resilience of Vermont. We’ve been fortunate in the last few weeks to welcome home hundreds of our loved ones, our friends and our neighbors who have returned from their deployments—but there are still many for whom we pray, including a member of this General Assembly, Representative Doran Metzger.

18. Cha-ching! Letter to Editor on Bernie Sander's Wasteful Money bill

Here is a quote from Milton resident Wendell Noble's letter to the BFP:

South Burlington Spend money elsewhere

It is fascinating that Rep. Bernie Sanders has obtained $1 million in federal money to demonstrate that electrolysis of water works in Vermont as it does anywhere else in the world and that the produced hydrogen can be burned in an internal combustion engine. That's $1 million not spent on our troops or homeland security and added to the federal deficit.
